TADCASTER Swim Squad stars landed two gold medals at the City of Leeds Swimming Club Grand Prix (50 metre) gala at the Leeds Aquatic Centre.

The gala was the last chance for swimmers to register a county qualifying time for the forthcoming Yorkshire Championships – and three Taddy youngsters achieved that feat.

Charlotte Black, Holly Moss and Jemima Browning will join the club’s 17 other swimmers at the county event later this month.

The 24 Tadcaster swimmers took part in 77 races in Leeds and, as well as the two golds, they claimed three silver and four bronze medals.

There were also 67 long course (50m) personal bests and 30 long course Taddy Swim Squad records.

The gold medallists were 14-year-old Lily Walker, of Newton Kyme, in the 100m breaststroke and Boston Spa’s Alex Williams, ten, in the 100m butterfly.

Silver medals were won by ten-year-old Alex Williams, in the 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle, and Stutton’s Alex Heard, 13, in the 50m freestyle.
