AFTER launching a senior men’s squad last season, community basketball club York Vikings have launched a senior ladies team.
Already with a commited core of seven players, they are looking for more players around the York region to join.
Training is held on each Thursday at Burnholme Community College Sports Hall from 7pm to 9pm.
Club secretary Jayne Pitcher said: “It’s a great addition to the club.
“We have been asked about the possibility of starting a team in the past and aim to be playing in the Leeds Basketball League next season.
“We have already been offered friendly games for this season from clubs in Harrogate and Edinburgh.”
