CITY of York Athletic Club shot-putter Scott Lincoln goes Germany this weekend in good heart after continuing his positive start to the year.

In the last week, the eight-time British champion has come first at both the Loughborough International and the IFAM International Outdoor in Belgium with year-best throws of 19.23 metres and 19.47 metres, respectively.

Lincoln is next in action on Saturday when he goes to Halle, Germany, to compete for Great Britain in another International Outdoor meeting.

He will be looking to continue a rise in form which has seen him crack the 19-metre barrier at progressively greater distances over his last five throws, starting with the Yorkshire Championships three weeks ago when he beat a 57-year-old record.
