YORK IBC have completed a Yorkshire League treble, adding the Double Rinks Trophy to their league title and Challenge Cup victory.

Their latest triumph was decided on a four-team round-robin basis with Doncaster, Harrogate and Thornaby also qualifying from the 11 sides in the county.

In their opening contest against Doncaster, York picked up a maximum six points and also built up a massive shots difference.

John Whiteley, Jeff Normanton, Mark Clarke and Jack Bird enjoyed a 32-7 win, while John Crowe, Mick Cooney, Kieran Earnshaw and Tony Horobin finished 21-13 victors.

In the other game, Harrogate also picked up maximum points from a 36-22 success over Thornaby.

York next faced Thornaby with Horobin`s side prevailing 25-12, as Bird’s team triumphed 15-11.

In the other game, Harrogate beat Doncaster 43-24 to again pick up maximum points, leaving the final game between the two teams with 100 per cent records as the decider.

York went on to overcome their North Yorkshire rivals with Horobin’s team recording a 21-9 success and Bird’s side winning 13-11 for an overall 34-20 victory.

On Saturday, York IBC host a Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Jumbulance Charity Day from 10am to 3pm.

The following day, at Scarborough IBC, the Yorkshire Ladies IBA hold their Finals Day which starts at 11.30am and features York`s Helen Wood`s team playing North Cave in the Fours and Linda Harrison`s side in the Pairs at 1pm.

On Monday, meanwhile, York IBC will stage their Singles Finals’ Day with the Ladies’ Over- 55s, Vets and Vets’ Plate taking place at 2pm, and the Ladies, Gents, Gents’ Plate and the Under-25s’ Singles beginning at 6.30pm.

Next Wednesday the Gents’ Simpson Pairs and the Mixed Knockout Pairs Finals will also take place at 6.30pm.

New Earswick IBC’s Northern Eastern Ladies’ League season came to an end with a fixture against Leeds.

At home, Pat Lancaster, Marjorie Watson, Pat Gibb and Jennie Phillpott went down 19-8, while Doramy Bellwood, Moira Ellis, Diane Hardy and Kath Sykes were defeated 21-7.

In the Leeds contests, Kath Hardcastle, Carole Thompson, Sally Domville and Norma Davies lost 24-14, while Jackie Toms, Veronica Connolly, Leslie Nuckey and Irene Waddington were beaten 16-12, meaning the final result finished 80-41 in the West Yorkshire team’s favour.
