THREE teams have reached the John Smith’s Ladies’ Darts League triples competition semi-finals for the first time.

Burnholme’s Marj Pearson, Lynne Willstrop and Jo West, Priory trio Linda Embleton, Sandra Pallister and Mandy Young, and Acomb Cons Club’s Bev Harton, Jayne Janes and Gina Whittaker will all play in the last four, alongside regular title challengers Michelle Britton, Dawn Exton and Di Moreland of Fulfordgate.

The Fulfordgate trio took out Tracey and Lauren Farmeary and Tina Platt, of Acomb CC, who had earlier beaten holders Sarah Jackson, Sharon Matthews and Jane Dobson thanks to checking out on double eight and double 16.

The Priory trio beat Acorn’s Lauren Tattersfield, Laura Gatenby and Zoey Chadwick, who had seen off Holgate’s Lisa Russell, Sandra Flintoft, Kirsty Limbert 2-1.

Acomb CC’s Harton, Janes and Whittaker beat Acorn’s Lisa Benton, Sarah Rankeillor and Rose Gray 2-1 with Whittaker closing on 74 to seal victory. The Acorn team had beaten Fulfordgate’s Muriel and Cara Britton and Jill Reed in the first round with a double-one shoot-out then a double-top.

The Burnholme trio dispatched Beagle’s Becky Thompson, Georgina Clayton, Nella Majsterek with Pearson closing on double-19 and 16. Beagle had earlier defeated Leeman’s Debbie Witts, Denise Pittock and Jackie Gray 2-0 with a 56 checkout from Majsterek.

Meanwhile, Michelle Britton and Dawn Exton will meet Tracey Farmeary and Bev Harton in the Captain/Vice-Captain Cup final.

Britton closed on 96 to secure their passage, beating Becky Thompson/Linda Staveley 2-1, while Farmeary/Harton won 2-1 in a hard-fought game against Burnholme’s Marj Pearson/Sarah Jackson.

Meanwhile, leaders Burton Stone continued their fine form in the York White Rose Ladies' League by beating New Earswick Bowls 7-0.

Toni Smallwood scored a ton and Christine Hedley a 124. Carol Tragni also notched a ton for Earswick.

White Horse lost 5-2 at home to Acomb Sports for whom high scores came from Jess Varley (2x100, 121) and Astrid Tute.

Glennis Ellis stood out with a 108 for Indoor Bowls but they lost 4-3 at home to Bootham Conservative Club.

Bootham Conservative Club's Dot Haines scored 104 but was outshone in the last game by team-mate Den Fahey who delivered two tons and gamed out on 24 darts to seal victory.

Holgate won 4-3 at Ebor thanks to Val Mackenzie taking the decider. High scores came from Angie Hurst (105) and Pat Hurst (117).
