CITY of York Hockey Club Men I won their final North League premier division away game in style by thrashing in-form Lindum 7-1.

Prior to York's visit, the hosts, battling against the drop, had claimed back-to-back wins to bring up a five-game unbeaten run.

But four goals from Tom Feasby alongside strikes from Mike Carter, Henry Laming and Alex Cockram ensured the scintillating City came away with a fourth consecutive win in this fixture.

The visitors' high-pressing forward line reaped early reward as they won the ball for Carter to open the scoring before two goals from Feasby put York three up inside 10 minutes, a lead they retained until the break.

Shortly after half-time, Lindum bundled one over the line but mid-table York hit back within seconds through Feasby to nip any potential comeback in the bud.

City, seemingly tearing through Lindum at will, bagged a fifth from Laming's drag-flicked short corner strike. An open-play goal from Cockram extended the lead to 6-1 before Feasby bagged his fourth.

City II lost 5-1 at home to Lindum II in Yorkshire League premier division.

Division one strugglers City III drew 1-1 at University of Leeds thanks to Zack Pierson's strike.

In division two, City IV fought back from two goals down to beat visiting Airedale 5-3 and secure promotion, subject to league restructuring.

Chris Wilson's goal kept City in it at the break before second-half strikes from Mat Tipper, Chris Dutton and Ben Foster (2) secured the win.

Fifth-placed Acomb I lost 3-1 at division two basement side Sheffield Hallam V.

Against the run of play, Jamie Robinson put the Tangerines ahead before the break following good work from Tom Brown and Jonny Brown.

The hosts started the second period strongly, as they had left off in the first, and equalised from a penalty corner before another such set-piece saw Sheffield take the lead.

Acomb struggled to find any shape or rhythm and, as they pressed for an equaliser, Sheffield were able to exploit the space at the back and grab a third.

Acomb's man of the match was Baz Whitfield.

City V lost 5-0 at Leeds VI in division three. In division four north, City VI lost 4-0 to Leeds VII and basement side City VII lost 8-0 at Halifax III.

Tom Feetenby and Finn Baqai scored a hat-trick apiece as third-placed City VIII thumped Scarborough II 8-0 in division five north. Luke Harbord and Jacob Birch added.

Fourth-placed Acomb II enjoyed an unbeaten double header at home, drawing 2-2 against Thirsk III and beating Driffield III 3-0.

On Saturday, Acomb overturned Thirsk's half-time lead in a dominant second period through goals by John Forecast and Richard Atkins from flowing open play.

But Acomb's discipline broke down in the final 10 minutes and, following two green cards, Thirsk netted the equaliser.

On Sunday, basement side Driffield were seen off by a goal from Tom Brown and two from brother Jonny, who bagged from open play and a penalty corner strike.

Strugglers City IX drew 3-3 at Bradford III thanks to Henry Cardigan's brace and Andy Gray's strike.
