NELLA MAJSTEREK'S 21-dart game was the only barrier to Acorn's full house as her Beagle side were trounced 8-1 in York John Smith's League division one.

Zoey Chadwick closed on 84 for a 24-darter and Lisa Benton finished on 18, double 18 for eighth-placed Acorn.

Jody Hancock closed on 103 in vain for Slipper, who lost 5-4 at home to high-fliers Fulfordgate, for whom Dawn Exton and Jill Reed combined to secure match points.

Carole Layne closed on 72 for a 24-darter, as did Acomb Conservative Club colleague Bev Harton, as they beat Marcia 6-3. Faye Hawksby and Ellen Platt won for Marcia before sisters Harton and Jayne Janes secured match points.

Division two leaders Edinburgh Arms proved too strong for Saddle as Chris Lamb, Donna Lynes, Amanda Bevan and Emma Frankland starred in a 7-2 victory. Sharon Lyons and Kath Powell replied before Burgh took a clean sweep in the pairs.

Holgate ‘B’ went second after beating close rivals Priory 7-2 with captain Christine Turgoose leading the way. Nicole Shaw, Alice Turgoose, Elma Standing and Sarah Evans sealed victory.

Severus ‘A’ were prevented from a clean sweep against Leeman ‘A’ by the pairing of Carolyn Frank and Margaret Yeomans.

Maggie Bedingham closed on 80 and Lorraine Blows threw two 100s in Leeman ‘B’s 6-3 victory at Holgate ‘A’, who hit the tons but not the doubles.

The league requests that participants get their Carol Perrett Drawn Pairs entries in as soon as possible.
