ACOMB Cons Club are hanging onto a slender lead in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies' Darts League after a clean sweep in the pairs saw them beat visitors Acorn Rugby 7-2.

Tracey Farmeary starred with four tons.

Burnholme are only two points behind after beating Slipper 8-3.

Victory was in the bag thanks to Lynne Willstrop, Sarah Jackson, Marj Pearson, Jane Dobson and Sharon Matthews in the singles.

Elaine Metcalfe replied for Slipper.

Third-placed Fulfordgate were pushed close by visitors Marcia, Michelle Britton and Dawn Exton sealing victory in the pairs, while Severus ‘B’s final pair Michelle Kelly and Sharon Mountain snatched victory at Beagle.

Edinburgh Arms leapt back into pole position in division two.

Donna Lynes won the opener and, although Kirsty Limbert replied for visitors Holgate ‘A’, Emma Frankland, Julie Stables, Anthea Jamieson and Amanda Bevan sealed match points in the singles in an 8-3 win.

Priory drop into second place after losing 7-4 to Leeman ‘B’, for whom Louise Warren, Lorraine Blows and Julie Oliver won in the singles, and Warren/Karen Simmons then Heather Bulmer/Maggie Bedingham won in the doubles.

Meanwhile, leaders Burton Stone boosted their York White Rose Ladies' League title chances by winning 5-2 at second-placed Holgate.

Toni Smallwood threw a 100 and 140 in a 23-darter. Holgate's Liza Moore scored a 120.

Holgate are now only one point above three teams - New Earswick Bowls, White Horse and Indoor Bowls.

Indoor Bowls won 4-3 at New Earswick Bowls, Elaine Bell sealing her win with a 95 finish. New Earswick's Janet Curry scored a ton and Janice Turton a 122.

White Horse pipped Bootham Conservative Club 4-3, Judy Bradshaw producing scores of 119 and 104. Bootham's Den Fahey threw a superb 174 and Irene Taylor a 101.

Near the bottom, King William won 5-2 at Acomb Sports, Carol Atkinson throwing two tons. Jess Varley also threw two tons for Acomb and Anne Bryszkiewski a 113.
