Gordon Fratson, Rodger Cann, Barrie Shipley and Graham Bell fought out a low-scoring match. They led 8-7 after 12 ends ends but Cave scored a four to go 11-8 up and never let the lead slip, holding on for a 15-13 victory.

York IBC's Tom Forbes Pairs competition was won for the first time by John Whiteley and Jeff Normanton.

This was the club's first domestic final of the season.
