CITY of York Ladies IV had a weekend double-header in Yorkshire League division two – and remained bottom of the table after losing both.
The first was a 3-0 loss at Bingley Bees, where they conceded two first-half goals.
City started the game in tough conditions, playing into the sun, but passed nicely and made good use of their deep defence and players out wide.
The good play continued into the second half, with City remaining confident, defending well and narrowly missing from a short corner, but a long advantage in the circle led to a third goal being conceded.
The second game was an 8-1 loss at second-placed Hull University I.
City of York V narrowly lost 1-0 at division four north leaders Scarborough I, the hosts scoring after ten minutes.
City dominated in the second period, but could not convert their chances.

City of York Ladies VI remain winless in the same division after a 5-0 loss against a strong Leeds IV.
The visitors travelled with a squad of 11 against Leeds’ 15, but fought well with keeper Cara McKay making some excellent saves.
City of York Ladies VII’s division five north game at Airedale IV was called off as City could not raise a team.
