FORMER Ginetta Junior champion Sarah Moore is returning to full-time racing after a year's absence.

Tockwith-based Moore will be taking on the Mighty Mini Championship with Agouti Motorsport and racing alongside Alice Hughes in the single-make championship for the ‘classic’ shape cars.

Always an exciting door-to-door championship, 'Mighty Minis' will be the perfect series for Moore to get back into competitive action after a 12 month break prompted by budgets.

Eight years ago, Moore, now 23, won the Ginetta Junior Championship which is the UK's longest running junior series offering a first step on the motorsport ladder for 14-17 year old racing drivers.

Her last full programme was in the German VLN endurance series where she partnered her brother Nigel in a Toyota GT86.

She now joins an expanding Agouti Motorsport team which also has two cars in the sister Super Mighty Mini Championship for Josh Young and Connor O’Brien.

"I am delighted to be getting back behind the wheel again after a frustrating year on the sidelines," said Moore. "Agouti Motorsport are a very professional team and I’m confident that, with their expertise, I’ll be regularly fighting for victory.

"I can't wait for the season to begin," Moore added. "The calendar is a great mix of high-speed circuits like Thruxton and more technical ones like Cadwell Park."

The first event in the Might Mini calendar takes places at Silverstone on March 25 and 26.

Moore will be providing support for the team’s designated charity - the Children’s Air Ambulance.

"The Children’s Air Ambulance is a wonderful charity supporting serious ill children by getting them to the hospitals and specialist care centres throughout the UK," Moore said. "I hope as many people as possible can join me in supporting them throughout 2017."
