BOOTHAM 'A' jumped to the top of the York Conservative Clubs Carlsberg UK Snooker League after an emphatic 6-1 victory over their 'B' team.

Jeff Brown led the way, making breaks of 22 and 25 in beating Chris Thompson.

Andy Wynn made it 2-0 as he beat Paul Scorfield, and this was followed with Rob Barron making a 25 clearance in beating Ian Robinson.

Colin Robinson continued his unbeaten run as he defeated Paul Mahoney, Tim Fillingham beat Lionel Barnes on the black, and Barry Rankin got the better of Matt Smith to make it 6-0.

Paul Powell stopped the whitewash as he beat Stuart Martel in the last frame.

Fulford 'B' lost top spot as they went down 4-2 to Malton.

Dave Coggan got them off to a good start by defeating Alan Sherry, but Malton then won the next four frames to seal victory.

Dominic Spiteri beat Phil Cook, Roger Ward defeated Fabian Sueess, Steve Beal beat Tristan Owen, and Chris Atkinson proved too strong for Bob Smith,.

Fulford at least took the last two frames as Lee Elvridge got the better of Steve Pawson and P Reed defeated Phil Hart.

Bootham 'A' now have 19 points, closely followed by Fulford 'B' with 18 points.

Heworth 'B' found themselves 3-1 down against Fulford 'A' but fought back well to the last three frames for a 4-3 victory.

Ian Strickland got them off to a good start as he defeated Dave Atkin, but wins for Dollin Mercer over Rob Paylor, Sam England against Dave Beattie, and Tom Lewis over John McCready put Fulford in a strong position.

Victories for Andi Ireland, Simon Whiteley and John Sherlock over Sam Parkinson, Glen Mountain and Alan Reed respectively saw Heworth turn things around again.

Heworth 'A' looked on course for victory against Acomb 'B' as they went 3-0 up - Kevin Gall beat Steve Rodgers, Nick Dyson beat Chris Nicholson, and Jorden Worobec defeated Kevin Ventress.

But then Brian Henry, still unbeaten this term for Acomb, overcome Gary Douglas to start his side's victory run.

Andy Morgan followed up by beating Clive Whyte, Andy Stone defeated Keith Watkinson, and, in the deciding frame, Jeff Winter completed the comeback win by beating Steve Burdett.

Tom Lewis, with a 44 break, heads the early standings in the Pasema Paving Highest Break award, while the Player of the Year rankings are led by Brian Henry of Acomb 'B', with five wins from five frames. Colin Robinson, of Bootham 'A' has won four from four.
