BURNHOLME were crowned champions of the John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one after a 6-3 victory over Tramways 'A'.
Marj Pearson, Jane Dobson and Sarah Jackson put Burnholme 3-0 ahead before Jo Hodges, Sue Lowery and the always dependable Carole Layne levelled for Tramways.
A clean sweep in the pairs saw the champions secure the title as close rivals Tramways ‘B’ lost 6-3 at Fulfordgate.
Jill Reed, Lynn Thompson, Cara and Michelle Britton led the way and gave Fulfordgate a 4-2 advantage. Bev Harton and Tracey Farmeary replied before Dawn Exton/Michelle Britton sealed match points.
Marcia captain Faye Hawksby hit a 76 checkout against Jubilee and the teams entered the pairs all square. Maggie Bedingham/Vicki Capes edged Jubilee in front before team-mates Louise Warren/Brenda Dawe sealed victory.
Strugglers Severus ‘B’ finally recorded their first win of the season against CH Ox 'B'. Sue Gillon/Jan Stewart secured the match points in the penultimate pairs.
Division two champions Priory were given a hard time at Saddle who raced into a 4-2 advantage thanks to wins by Kath Powell, Sharon Lyons, Sharon Nelson and Vicky McClaren.
Babs Harrison and Di Moreland pulled Priory back into the match before Ellen Platt/Clair Cooper claimed match points and completed a full house in the pairs.
Severus ‘A’ secured second spot after Sue Clark, Glynnis and Jackie Simpson, and Steph Barker set up a 7-2 victory at Green Tree.
Severus entered the pairs with a 4-2 advantage. Kirsty Limbert and Jackie Young had stopped the rot with wins for Tree but a clean sweep in the pairs gave Severus victory.
Close rivals Nags Head, who had started on the same points as Severus, could only manage a 5-4 win against visitors Leeman. Elaine Metcalfe/Doreen Johnstone sealed the win.
Final pairing Kate Rankeillor/Roz Hairsine snatched victory for Clockhouse at CH Ox ‘A’.
Burton Stone put up a brave fight despite being two players short as they went down 3 – 6 to visitors Clifton.
