Priory's Harrison-Platt went on to seal that match points after Dawn Clarke had also helped narrow the gap.

Victory for Clockhouse was sewn up within the singles as Laura Gatenby secured the triumph before Jackie Young responded for visitors Green Tree.

Young was then joined by Lisa Russell to double Tree's points, before Gatenby-Sammy Benton and Sarah Rankeillor-Lisa Benton drove the nail in for a resounding 7-2 result.

Severus 'A' were prevented from a full house by Clifton pairing Alice Turgoose-Angela Fletcher.

The club side guaranteed victory with a clean sweep in the singles.

Castle Howard Ox 'A' also secured match points with Anne Gibson sealing success against Saddle, whose lone singles point came from Sharon Lyons.

But they doubled their points with Chris Patterson-Vicky McLaren winning the final pairs game.

Tramways 'B' shot into a 3-0 advantage through Tracey Farmeary, Tina Platt and Jayne Janes, before their 'A' team hit back as Carole Layne, Sue Lowery and Jo Hodges - with an 86 two-dart checkout - levelled the tie.

Excellent scoring saw sisters Natalie-Lauren Farmeary edge the 'B' team in front, then a 21-dart pairs effort from Bev Harton-Tracey Farmeary sealed victory.

Janes and Platt added a point for a 6-3 scoreline.

Fulfordgate captain Michelle Britton sealed match points with a 21-dart game as Michelle Kelly was Severus 'B’s individual winner.

Kelly-Sue Gillon and Dot Sellars-Sharon Mountain narrowed the winning margin before Britton and niece Cara Britton made the score 6-3.

Ox 'B's Sandra Bruce, Tracey Watkinson, Wendy Shortle and Ann Bass set them on the road to victory at Edinburgh, whose Chris Lamb and Amanda Bevan sent the teams into the pairs with the score 4-2.

Bass-Shortle sealed match points, before the home side polished off the remaining legs to lose by the meanest of margins.

Meanwhile, in the White Rose Ladies League, Acomb Sports pipped hosts Ebor thanks to a blistering start in the team games.

Acomb won the first three games through Anne Bryszkewski-Astrid Tute(100)-Julie Bond, Barbara O'Donnell-Bond(100) and Bryszkewski-Tute.

Alice Payior (102) then Christina Davison replied for Ebor in the singles but Tute made it four for Acomb, scoring a 116 and 100. Roz Kerr took the last for Ebor.

New York also edged Crescent 'B' 4-3, Maureen Tindall (100), Angie Hurst (128) and Irene Taylor (108) in the tons during the contest.

Punch Bowl's Toni Smallwood threw a 140 and 100 in the triples as her side won 5-2 at home to Derwent.

In division two, Clarence saw off King William 6-1, Rose Hattee stopping the whitewash, and Lord Nelson won the team games en route to a 5-2 win at Crescent 'A', Anne Marie Black including a 133 in her singles win.
