SIMON DYSON exited Africa stung by a dire second round in the Tshwane Open.
Already toiling after a first round three-over-par 73, York’s Dyson followed that with a seven-over 77 yesterday to be eight shots adrift of the midway cut.
It was a chastening experience at the Pretoria Country Club, where he never recovered from a double-bogey on the par-four first.
Dyson also carded two other double-bogeys on the tenth and 12th holes, which were followed by dropped shots on 13 and 14 to erase his lone birdie recorded at the par-four sixth.
Knaresborough-born John Parry battled through to the final two rounds. He improved a first-day 71 with a three-under 67, which included six birdies, to be placed in the top 30.
