WHIXLEY and District Community Cricket Club raised £1,000 towards their multi-sports pavilion project at their Dinner of the Year.
The event included a four-course meal, a quiz, stand-up bingo, games and entertainment.
Iain Richardson, club sectretary and project manager, said: “We are hoping to start building the club’s new multi-purpose sports pavilion during the summer, having been offered match- funding to the tune of £50,000 by Sport England’s Inspired Facilities awards programme. “The club have already raised the major part of £25,000 and is working tirelessly to raise the much needed balance of £25,000 through other fundraising events.”
