Leganes survived a late Celta Vigo onslaught to earn a point in a goalless LaLiga draw.

Celta were chasing a third straight LaLiga victory and must have thought they would get it when, in the 87th minute, Brais Mendez turned the ball towards the bottom corner of the net from six yards out but Ivan Cuellar made a superb save.

It was one of two close calls for the hosts, who also hit the crossbar through a Maxi Gomez header.

Leganes, now unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions, had chances themselves in the first half.

Youssef En-Nesyri saw a couple of efforts saved while Oscar Rodriguez and Mikel Vesga narrowly missed the target.

The second half belonged to Celta, though. Gomez, who missed with a header early in the game, went a little closer when he nodded the ball against the woodwork.

Hugo Mallo and Mendez went close for Celta and Iago Aspas worked Cuellar before the goalkeeper brilliantly denied Mendez late on.
