IT’S win or bust for Leeds United against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road tomorrow.

Anything less than victory will probably end the Whites’ diminishing play-off dreams after a 1-1 home draw with Championship title contenders West Ham.

But Leeds boss Neil Warnock is convinced the Hammers’ 90th minute equaliser, which leaves his side five points adrift of a play-off slot, should not have stood.

Defender Danny Collins nodded in a Mark Noble corner at the death after Luciano Becchio gave Leeds an 83rd minute lead from close range.

A disappointed Warnock said: “I said to the referee: ‘When you watch Carlton Cole blatantly push Darren O’Dea over, you’ve got to see that’. He said he was concentrating on the line, but he’s got to see that. He’s headed the ball from where the foul was.”

In truth, a draw was a fair result as Leeds had found it hard to make any headway against a tough, well organised Hammers defence in a game of few chances played out before a noisy 33,000-plus crowd.

Leeds shaded the first half and the East London team the second, particularly after the arrival of substitute Cole. A point was of little comfort to either team.

On-loan Paul Robinson has added plenty of steel at left-back and on the opposite flank Paul Connolly is enjoying his best run of form since arriving at the club in 2010.

Connolly’s header drew a fine save from Robert Green on 70 minutes and the defender was involved in the Whites’ goal when he headed a cross onto the bar and Becchio nudged in the rebound.

But Leeds were unable to hang on and despite the general all-round improvement in Warnock’s five-match tenure are mathematically further off the pace than when his predecessor, Simon Grayson, was fired.
