A VISIT to a specialist was on the cards for Leeds United skipper Jonny Howson today.

The midfielder limped out of the win against Millwall last week with a knee injury, which has prompted the trip to a specialist to assess the extent of the damage.

And with the experienced Michael Brown unlikely to make the team for tomorrow’s trip to Watford because of an ankle injury, the United engine-room looks depleted.

Said Leeds manager Simon Grayson: “Jonny will be seeing a specialist today.

“We’ve been looking at every angle this week and have been assessing him and the severity of it.

“Sometimes these things can look worse than they are.”

The boost for the Leeds boss is that he has an otherwise full-strength squad to select from against the Hornets.

And in Scottish international winger Robert Snodgrass Leeds can boast a man in the prime of form, bagging both goals – each a stylish finish – in the win over Millwall.

Watford, meanwhile, are in their best form of the current campaign. Their 2-1 triumph at Ipswich took the Vicarage Road outfit’s run to just one defeat in the last seven games.

Said goalkeeper Scott Loach: “We just have to keep this little run going. There is no reason why we can’t push up the table.”
