BUOYANT Leeds United are keeping their fingers crossed goalkeeper Andy Lonergan will be fit for tonight’s visit of Coventry City.

The shot-stopper came off with an injured finger before the end of the 3-0 Yorkshire derby triumph at Doncaster Rovers on Friday.

But Leeds are giving as much time as possible for the former Preston number one to be fit to continue as the last man standing at Elland Road.

Said manager Simon Grayson: “We will be assessing the situation to see where we are.

“But if Andy isn’t fit then I have a player in Paul Rachubka who has plenty of experience and know-how and can come straight into the side.”

With Leeds currently enjoying a fluent run of form Grayson will be loath to disrupt his team ahead of the visit of Coventry who were boosted by their 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
