CONTINUING to pick up points is the only thing on the mind of Leeds United manager Simon Grayson as his men prepare to entertain Walsall at Elland Road tonight (kick off 7.45pm).
After a late own goal secured the Whites a Coca-Cola League One point in a 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient they otherwise dominated, Grayson is sanguine about Leeds’ mixed bag of form in recent weeks.
“It’s a point nearer to where we want to be,” Grayson said.
“We’ve got 17 games left, and we have to carry on picking up points. If we do that, we won’t be too far away.”
New central-midfield pairing Bradley Johnson and Neil Kilkenny are likely to carry on where they left off against Orient after Grayson opined they “ran the show”.
Leeds are four points behind leaders Norwich in second place but have two games in hand. Walsall are in 12th place in the table with 37 points from 29 games.
• Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock insists he has not spoken to QPR following speculation linking him with the west Londoners. Former Scarborough boos Warnock’s current position remains uncertain with the club in administration.
