STRIKER Tore Andre Flo is set to sign a new one-year contract with Leeds United as long as he recovers from his foot injury.

Dennis Wise signed his former Chelsea team-mate on a short-term contract in January but injury meant the Norwegian international striker was unable to make much impact on Leeds' unsuccessful relegation battle, scoring in his only Championship start against West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road.

However the Leeds boss is keen to add Flo's experience to what looks set to be a very young side that will tackle the task of getting Leeds back into the Championship.

Nothing can be finalised until after Friday's creditors' meeting at which Ken Bates's offer of one penny in the pound pay-off is likely to be voted through, leaving him in charge of the club but with most of the debts wiped clean.

Only then can the new company with the familiar faces at the helm start to buy and sell players.

Wise will have less than a month to make an impact in the transfer market before pre-season training starts on July 2 but is hoping to create enough money through sales of players like David Healy and Richard Cresswell to bring in players with experience of battling their way out of the third tier of English football.
