The versatile John Quinn, fresh from his first Grade 1 jumping win at Cheltenham last week with Countrywide Flame, can make his mark on the Flat at Kempton today and Southwell tomorrow.

The Norton trainer sends Indian Arrow winging his way to Kempton for the Olly Murs Live 17.08.12 Handicap and has significantly booked Jimmy Fortune to take the mount.

A respectable fourth at Southwell last time out, this quicker surface is fancied to suit him even better.

Whatever his chances with Indian Arrow, Quinn has even better prospects with Newport Arch in tomorrow’s Follow Southwell on Twitter Handicap.

Winner of two of his last three starts, Newport Arch scored by three lengths from Maven last week and could easily have made it six if Michael O’Connell had ridden him right out to the line.

A 6lb penalty may not be enough to trouble Newport Arch and the North Yorkshire gelding is napped to score again.

Remaining at Southwell, Bella Ophelia will be hard to beat in the Free Betting With FreeBetting.co.uk Handicap.

Hughie Morrison’s three-year-old has already clocked up a hat-trick of wins this season, all achieved on this course. There promises to be even more to come from Bella Ophelia in this five furlong dash.

First In Command can defy a 6lb penalty in the Dine In The Pantry Handicap.

Trained in Ireland by Mark Loughnane, the sprinter came good over this course and distance last week and won with something in hand. He can follow up with Shane Kelly again in the saddle.

Mark Johnston has his horses in terrific form and the Middleham trainer has double prospects with Always Eager and Ghost Train.

Always Eager, who has shown ability at an ordinary level, will have the assistance of the experienced Daryl Byrne in the opening apprentice handicap, a race which will take little winning.

Ghost Train makes even more appeal in the six furlong handicap.

Runner-up at Lingfield last time out over seven furlongs, Ghost Train now makes his handicap debut off a mark of 70, which looks a fair rating.

At Kempton this afternoon, Norton jockey Freddie Tylicki partners nap selection Rambo Will in the opening Bhest Racing To School Handicap.

Trained by John Jenkins, with whom Tylicki has formed a good association this winter, Rambo Will went down narrowly behind Captain Scooby on his latest outing. He is a previous winner over this course and distance and looks sure to make a bold bid, despite top weight.

Casual Mover will not be short of supporters in the £32 Free At 32Red.com Handicap.

Steve Drowne’s mount has won two of his five starts and is open to further improvement. A 5lb rise in the handicap looks fair.

• Channel 4 will show all terrestrial racing – including the Grand National, Royal Ascot and the Epsom Derby – for “at least the next four years” from 2013, the broadcaster said today.
