Conquest and Wi Dud, separated by only three-quarters of a length in the Gimcrack Stakes at York last month, renew rivalry at Newmarket tomorrow in what promises to be the best juvenile contest of the season.

The £170,000 Shadwell Middle Park Stakes has also attracted the unbeaten Dutch Art, talented Irish challenger Brave Tin Soldier, Bryan Smart's Royal Ascot winner Hellvelyn, and the consistent Captain Marvelous.

Hopes are high, however, that the Gimcrack form will be upheld, just as it was 12 months ago when Amadeus Wolf, successful at York, went on to follow up in the Middle Park for Kevin Ryan.

Ryan is represented here by Wi Dud, winner of the Flying Childers Stakes on Knavesmire last time. But this smashing colt may have to play second fiddle to nap selection Conquest once more.

The William Haggas-trained two-year-old overcame trouble in running to nail Wi Dud in the dying strides of the Gimcrack. He is taken to confirm that form and also have the edge over the unbeaten Dutch Art. Jimmy Fortune again takes the mount.

Sander Camillo will be a popular choice in the Sky Bet Cheveley Park Stakes, the other Group One two-year-old event on this top-class card.

Trained by Jeremy Noseda, Sander Camillo won the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and has since followed-up with an impressive victory in the Cherry Hinton Stakes on this course.

Forced to miss last month's Lowther Stakes at York after a minor training setback, Sander Camillo can bounce back here and prove herself the best juvenile sprinting filly of the season.

Thousand Words may not have done himself justice at York's St Leger meeting, but Barry Hills' colt, successful in his two previous races, and highly regarded, is fancied to resume winning ways in the Somerville Tattersall Stakes.

The £250,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes offers Passified the chance to hit the jackpot on her second outing.

Trainer David Elsworth sent this well-bred youngster to Pontefract last week to make a winning debut in maiden company.

She faces a much stiffer task tomorrow, but Elsworth thinks highly of her, and it is worth remembering that he won this race a few years ago with Cape Columbine.

At Lingfield, make a note of the promising Hurricane Flyer (1.50) and the hat-trick seeking Lolla's Spirit (5.45).
