IT was back at 1994 at York that Kieren Fallon won the Gimcrack Stakes on Chilly Billy for Thirsk trainer Lynda Ramsden.

Tomorrow at Folkestone, Fallon teams-up with the new generation Chillie Billie and can guide the Newmarket juvenile to victory.

Trained by Phil McEntee, and held in high regard, Chillie Billie ran in a hot race at Newmarket last week and shaped well to finish third to Jack Who’s He after attracting some support in the market.

Chillie Billie should have derived benefit from that outing and, although this race comes plenty quick enough after his debut, he is expected to make a bold bid in the McCloud Family Affair Maiden Stakes. Karuga, a speedily-bred newcomer, trained by Richard Hannon, the two-year-old king, represents a potential threat.

Magical Speedfit is napped to come out on top in the Play Blackjack At totesport.com Handicap over five furlongs.

The speedy six-year-old failed by only half-a-length to beat Black Baccara over this course and distance last week. He should now take his revenge on the winner, who picked up a 6lb penalty for that success.

The opening Duke of Cumberland And Old Neptune Maiden Stakes should be a mere formality for Stone Of Folca.

The John Best-trained sprinter has only three rivals, including one of his own stable-mates, and stands head and shoulders over them all on ratings. He is on a lofty figure on 101 as a result of finishing second in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood last season, and fourth in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. He should not break sweat to win this modest event.

If ever a horse deserved to win a race then it is surely Sunset Place, who runs in the Play Poker At tspoker.com Handicap.

Runner-up in his last three starts, Sunset Place has gone down each time by less than a length. Perhaps opportunity will come knocking for him tomorrow.

At Southwell this afternoon, Firebeam will not be short of supporters in the opening Ladbrokes Maiden Stakes.

Trained at Newmarket by William Haggas, the three-year-old finished a good second to King Of Jazz at Doncaster earlier in the month.

He looks a winner waiting to happen on the strength of that form and, provided he handles this artificial surface, he will be hard to beat. Liam Jones has the mount.

The lightly-raced and promising Maristar (3.55) and the speedy Ace Master (6.00) are two others to note on a course where they have scored in the past.
