ASK had all the answers in a dominating display in the Group 2 Emirates Airline Yorkshire Cup at York Racecourse.

The heavily fancied 2-1 favourite, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, was ridden to a six length victory over Blue Bajan and Veracity in the £140,000 stayers’ contest.

Jockey Ryan Moore looked to be travelling comfortably on board last year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe sixth and, when the gap opened, he took full advantage and streaked clear of his seven rivals.

Owner Patrick Fahey said the Irish St Leger would now be the number one target for his six-year-old.

“He (Moore) said he might have gone a bit too early but it was a lovely opening and he thought he would put it to bed – but he was getting tired,” he said. “He takes no getting ready. He is always a very fit horse at home. The Irish St Leger will be his number one for this year. That’s his goal.”
