IT'S the annual "Red Shirt" charity night at Pontefract tomorrow and Norton jockey Tom Eaves faces a special assignment - riding a winner for the Queen.

Eaves has been booked to partner Hypoteneuse for Sir Michael Stoute and will don the famous royal colours aboard this filly in the totesport.com Fillies' Handicap.

A winner last time out at Bath, when she beat Duty Free by one and a quarter lengths, Hypoteneuse is set to carry a 6lb penalty tomorrow evening and looks up to the task.

The whole "Red Shirt" theme, originated by former trainer Jack Berry, who is famous for wearing such a garment, is a popular date in Pontefract's racing calendar and the proceeds of the night go towards the Injured Jockeys' holiday fund, which provides a fortnight's holiday in Tenerife for injured and disabled jockeys.

Low Flyer, who made a decent impression on his debut at Newcastle when finishing third, should be all the wiser for that experience. David Barron's youngster should give a good account of himself in the Coral Maiden Auction Stakes.

Tim Easterby can do little wrong at present - the Great Habton trainer saddled two winners at Beverley on Tuesday - and he can add to his score here with another brace.

Flighty Fellow, a previous course winner, has solid claims in the Colstrope Cup Handicap, while Sofie Tucker has every chance of opening her winning account in the Frontline Bathrooms Maiden Handicap.

Sofie Tucker has stacked up a sequence of placed efforts this season without getting her head in front. She won't get many better opportunities than this, and is napped to break her duck.

The main afternoon action comes from a bumper card at Newbury, where Sir Michael Stoute also has strong claims.

He saddles Visit in the Hillwood Stud Maiden Stakes.

Beaten a head on her debut at Newmarket, Visit went into many notebooks that day as a future winner. Opportunity can come knocking for her tomorrow.

Circle Of Love, who bounded home by a wide margin at Pontefract last time, can follow-up in the TKP Surfacing John Chappell Memorial Fillies' Handicap.

Jimmy Fortune has the mount on John Dunlop's progressive three-year-old.

Cheshire trainer Michael Mullineaux, who has only ten horses under his care, saddled his fourth winner from his last ten runners when The History Man scored at Beverley on Tuesday.

He can continue his purple patch, courtesy of Rudry World, a recent Lingfield winner, who has every chance of following up in the Sporting Index Apprentice Handicap. Sophie Doyle again has the mount.

* York Racecourse has confirmed the Silver Cup, not run during last week's July Meeting because of the wet weather, will be part of a bumper card on Music Showcase Day on July 28.
