BLYTHE Knight, the most versatile horse in Ryedale, and perhaps in Britain, bids to provide John Quinn with another memorable victory at Epsom tomorrow.

Not only is he the top-rated two-miles novice hurdler in the country, Blythe Knight is also a very good Flat horse. Winner of last season's Lincoln Handicap, his latest victory was gained in the valuable Hambleton Handicap at York last month.

Malton-based Quinn is pitching him into Group 3 company in tomorrow's Vodafone Diomed Stakes and although he has something to find on official figures, Blythe Knight, a horse who makes a habit of rising to the big occasion, is expected to do so again. Regular Flat rider Graham Gibbons has the mount.

Quinn can also make his presence felt deeper into the Derby programme. He has good prospects with Caribbean Coral in the Vodafone Dash, a race this horse has won in the past, with Leslingtaylor in the Vodafone Live Music Handicap and with nap selection Pacific Pride in the Vodafone Sprint Handicap.

The latter ran a fine race on his comeback outing at York recently and will line up a deal sharper this time.

Richard Fahey also has good prospects of getting his name on the Epsom scoresheet. The Malton trainer saddles Billy Dane (2.00), a good third in a hot race at Haydock last Saturday, and also his unbeaten dual-winner Mister Hardy (2.30).

At Musselburgh, where Channel 4 will be covering the first three races, make a note of Fahey's Sin City in the £18,000 totesport Handicap.

Beaten a whisker on his reappearance at Pontefract over ten furlongs, the gelding will benefit from the step up to one and three-quarter miles tomorrow.

The £20,000 totesport.com Handicap looks a good opportunity for Secret Tune to make his mark for trainer Pat Eddery, the former top jockey. A Newcastle winner last time, Secret Tune looks a decent prospect in the making.

The opening totescoop6 Handicap over five furlongs offers How's She Cuttin' the chance to continue her upwards curve. David Barron's speedy four-year-old has a good record on this course and will be hard to beat.
