Passage Of Time, triumphant in the Musidora Stakes at York earlier this month, can join the roll of honour reserved for Classic-winning fillies tomorrow, by landing the Vodafone Oaks at Epsom.

A quality performer, unbeaten in four career starts and proven with give in the ground, Passage Of Time bids to give Henry Cecil his eighth Oaks win, the legendary Newmarket trainer being also strongly represented tomorrow by Light Shift.

All eyes, though, will be on Passage Of Time, who completed a hat-trick of juvenile wins in the Group One Criterium de Saint-Cloud in France, beating the very smart colt Soldier Of Fortune, who has since won the Chester Vase and is one of Aidan O'Brien's leading hopes for Saturday's Derby.

An abscess in her throat threatened to foil Passage Of Time reappearing on Knavesmire in the Musidora, but she not only ran, but won cosily, despite the race developing into a sprint, which hardly played to her strengths.

The step up to a mile and a half tomorrow should suit Passage Of Time and, with Richard Hughes in the saddle, she is a worthy favourite to take the spoils.

Light Shift, two from two this season and the winner of the Cheshire Oaks, provides Cecil with an excellent second string to his bow. Improving with every race, there is a slight doubt about her ability to be most effective on easy ground, but she has strong claims.

Of the others, the unbeaten Dalvina, representing the connections of 2004 Oaks winner Ouija Board, deserves respect, along with O'Brien's All My Loving and the John Oxx-trained Four Sins.

But the ultra-popular Cecil, who has had a spell in the wilderness in recent years, is fancied to bounce back in unforgettable style here by producing a one-two with Passage Of Time and Light Shift.

Also worthy of interest at Epsom is last year's Derby winner Sir Percy, who is fancied to have the edge over last season's St Leger winner Sixties Icon in a fascinating renewal of the Coronation Cup.

At Catterick, a note should be made of True in the Go Racing At Thirsk on Monday Handicap over two miles.

A course and distance winner last season, True was given a little too much ground to make up on her latest visit to this course when a staying-on third to Vice Admiral, beaten less than a length by a horse who has since scored again at Beverley. True is napped to make a bold bid this time.

Tim Easterby has double prospects with Mulligan's Gold (3.35), who made an encouraging return to action at Beverley recently, and the promising Bollin Fergus (5.45), a good third at Newcastle last week.
