All Or Nothin, a winner at Pontefract last season, returns to the course this afternoon with a good chance of resuming winning ways in the feature race on the card for North Yorkshire trainer John Quinn.

The four-year-old was a progressive performer last year and left the impression that further improvement could be eked out of him this season.

He has had only one outing so far, an unplaced effort at Doncaster just over three weeks ago behind Thunderball. That race should have helped to bring him on and he figures at the foot of the weights in the £20,000 Riu Palace Meloneras Handicap over six furlongs.

His wide draw in stall 11 of the 14-strong field is not exactly ideal, but the booking of smart apprentice Julie Burke to reduce his weight by 3lb is a positive and nap selection All Or Nothin is expected to make a bold show on a course he likes.

Two weeks ago, Wily Fox finished second to Quinn’s potentially useful Hidden Justice and a reproduction of that performance should make the James Eustace-trained gelding hard to beat in the Pontefract Marathon Handicap over a trip just short of two and three-quarter miles.

Rosie Jessop, who is apprenticed to Sir Mark Prescott and who spent the winter riding in Qatar, has the mount on Wily Fox in what promises to be a gruelling test.

Norton trainer Brian Ellison can do no wrong at present and Dolphin Rock can be another winner for him in the Birthday Package – New For 2013 Handicap.

Dale Swift’s mount scored a pillar-to-post win here a couple of weeks and a 3lb rise in the weights may not prevent him completing a course double.

Also worth noting are the promising Noble Bull (2.40), who showed decent juvenile form and is the mount of York-based Robert Winston, and the Roger Varian-trained Bastion (4.10).

Snooky gets the nap vote tomorrow at Yarmouth in the Gold & Silver Exchange Of Great Yarmouth Handicap.

Richard Fahey’s gelding looked unlucky when third, beaten by only half a length, to Dolphin Rock at Pontefract recently as he lost ground at the start.

Provided he breaks on terms this time, this lightly-raced gelding can make amends under Paul Hanagan.

Fahey and Hanagan could also combine for a winner through Khelman in the Weddings At Great Yarmouth Racecourse Maiden Stakes.

Having run some sound races as a juvenile last year, Khelman produced another spirited display when runner-up at Doncaster on his reappearance.

He has since finished unplaced in a hot handicap at Musselburgh over a mile after meeting trouble in running.

He has to cope here with the drop back to six furlongs, but the opposition does not appear to amount to much and Khelman can take advantage by finally breaking his duck.

Spirit Of The Law could be another Fahey-trained winner in the Burlington Palm Hotel Handicap. He shaped well at Catterick on his reappearance and is now dropped back in trip with George Chaloner claiming a valuable 7lb.

Kieren Fallon looks a significant jockey booking for the John Ryan-trained newcomer Applejack Lad (5.10), while Dream Walker (6.50), a course winner last season, should be all the better for his comeback run at Musselburgh earlier in the month.
