STATION and Severus will collide in next month’s York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup final.

Station beat Selby neighbours Hounds 4-0 in the semi-finals and Severus booked their place with a 3-1 home win over King William.

Holders Hounds were up against it from the start and Station took a 16th-minute lead through Wayne Brook’s 18-yard volley.

By half-time, Station had doubled their lead with a Luke Durham goal. The same player also netted after the break before Ian Beckram rounded off the win in the last minute.

King William shaded the early exchanges against Severus and took the lead with an Anthony Evans header from a corner.

Severus levelled on the stroke of half-time when Carl Stewart’s effort deflected in off team-mate Mark Woodward.

Woodward then edged Severus ahead with ten minutes to go, cracking in a 25-yard shot. A late own goal made it 3-1.

The final will be played at Wigginton on Sunday, April 22, kick off 10.30am.

York RI’s 2-1 win over York Medics earned them a York FA Sunday Morning Junior Cup final meeting with Bubwith, who trounced Dick Turpin 6-0.

Gary Rylance gave RI the lead from the penalty spot, awarded after Ben Lowe’s mazy run was halted illegally on 35 minutes.

A 25-yard free-kick by Dale Holding doubled the lead early in the second half and, although Mark Fawthrop pulled a goal back, RI’s lead was protected by outstanding ’keeper Danny Cameron.

In the other last four tie, Bubwith proved far too strong for Dick Turpin with goals coming from Tom Robinson (2), Will Nicholson, Andy Woodall, Jonny Hardcastle and Wes Pears.

The final will follow the York FA Sunday Morning Senior Cup showdown at Wigginton, kicking off at 2pm.
