TITLE-CHASING Huntington Rovers kept up the pressure on their rivals with a 3-0 win at Rowntrees in the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division.

The deadlock was broken on the hour when Gary Mitchinson was fouled in the box and Gary Newton scored from the spot. Chris Dyson, the division’s top marksman, then netted twice in ten minutes.

Keystones’ home revival gathered pace as they chalked up a third win on the bounce on their own pitch, coming from 2-0 down to beat Wigginton 3-2.

Jamie Richardson (2) and Lee Winslow were the scorers.

Poppleton beat Hamilton Panthers 5-2, hitting all five goals in the first half through Matty Graham (2), Alex Janes (2) and Tom Shaw.

Mark Willoughby pulled a goal back for Panthers before the break and Liam Stilgoe netted in the second half.

Wilberfoss, meanwhile, lost 2-0 at Copmanthorpe. Terrington Glory clinched the division one championship after they defeated Selby RSSC, the only side with a chance of catching them. James Barrett gave Selby the advantage at the interval, but second-half goals from Tim Atkins, Alex Yates and Tom Paley sealed the win.

Bishopthorpe took a massive stride towards maintaining division one status with a 3-2 win at Amotherby.

Mikey Brown’s 14th goal of the campaign gave Amotherby the lead but Joe Gardham levelled.

Rob Pinder, scoring for the fifth game on the trot, restored the lead for the hosts, but again Gardham levelled for Bish before Mike Elsworth secured a first away win in nine for the visitors.

Pocklington led twice at Tockwith but conceded three goals in the final 15 minutes to lose 4-2. Adam Fairhurst (2), Graham Hutchison and Chris Clarke scored for Tockwith.
