DEFIANT Hounds went top of division one of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby Sunday Morning Football League after a narrow 3-2 win over Skelton.

Hounds founds themselves 2-0 down after Tom Metcalfe had netted for Skelton.

But they hit back with Jon Page, Alan Jackson and Matty Howden goals to claim the points.

Station FC, who have a game in hand on the leaders, trail by only a point after routing Acorn 13-1.

Luke Durham top-scored for Station with four goals followed by Mike Braithwaite (2), Steve Lyon (2), Will Ramsey (2), Gary Collier, Josh O’Neil and Gary Lumley. The Acorn consolation goal came from Nick Hutchinson.

The only game in division two saw Wigginton Grasshoppers and Haxby Lions share a 3-3 draw.

Lions scored after ten minutes through Dave Thompson, doubling the lead eight minutes later when Pete Dransfield netted.

Grasshoppers had a player sent off but scored just before the break through Terry Taylor.

The second period saw Lions restore their two-goal lead with an own goal but ten-man Hoppers struck back with an Eddie Clapham effort before Matty Tiplady headed a leveller.

In division three, Bubwith Nomads’ promotion push continued with a 4-2 win at Marcia Grey, who took the lead through Chris Murcutt.

Nomads hit back just before the interval with a 30-yard screamer from Craig Hodgson then ran in three quick goals through James Andrews, Mike Hemingway and Mark Rowden before a late reply from Marcia substitute Steve Pickup.

Division four leaders Bishopthorpe United were held 3-3 at home by unbeaten Huntington. On target for the leaders were Andy Manns, Joe Florey and Guy Kilner.

Bubwith FC – yet to drop a division five point this season – saw off hosts Walnut Tree 6-1 thanks to goals from Kristian Wood (2), Jamie Sedman (2), Alex Macrae and Jonny Hardcastle. Jordan Siswick hit the Tree strike.

F1 Racing bagged their first points this term by demolishing FTR Burnholme 13-1. Nigel Dawber struck five, supplemented by Sean Taylor (2), Joe Richardson (2), Al Wellburn (2) and Saul McMillan (2).
