Acomb Celtic ran riot against hosts at Skelton to soar to third spot in division one of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby Sunday Morning Football League.

The Celtic crackshots triumphed 8-1 with the plunder led by Adam Osguthorpe with a hat-trick. Also on the mark were Adam Brook (2), Mark Benson, Mark Powell and Kevin Scott.

Station FC, with two-goal hauls for Steve Lyon and Luke Durham, plus an Ian Beckram strike, beat bottom side Nestlé Flag 5-2. Dave Dawson and Chris Johnson replied.

Division two leaders King William dropped their first points this term when Scott Sullivan struck five times in Dunnington’s 5-3 win.

Dunnington missed a penalty before Sullivan hit a first-half hat-trick to lead 3-0 at the break.

On target for King William were Neil Ducey (2) and Danny Gray.

Derwent United hammered hosts Albion Vaults 7-1 to go second. And with games in hand over the leaders they will pose a threat. The United marksmen were Dean Nuttall (2), Dave Bradshaw (2), Bryde Freer, Callum Scott and Andy Thornton. Chris Harkin netted for Albion.

Haxby Lions beat York Nomads 5-3 to record their second win of the season. Two goals from Tom Matthews were supplemented by efforts from substitutes Tom Beattie and Simon Gregson, plus a penalty by Dale Waddington.

With goals from Jonathon Sargent and Matty Simpson, Cueball beat Wigginton Grasshoppers 2-0.

Division three front-runners Beeswing swept aside Britannia Tadcaster 7-1. Veteran Mark Burton claimed a hat-trick, while Daryl Dew (2), Calum McKenzie and Johnny Bulmer completed the win. John Crawley hit Britannia’s reply.

Marcia Grey came from behind, trailing to a Joe Dack penalty, to beat Hemingbrough 2-1. Substitute Scott Bisbey and Nick McBride netted to turn the tables.

FC Barlby went third after seeing off visitors New Earswick 6-1 thanks to a brace from Lee Carter, and solo efforts from Liam Giles, Dom Jones and Tom Wright, plus an own goal. Mike Popplewell hit the consolation.

The derby duel between Bubwith Nomads and Hambleton saw James Andrews score the only goal to seal victory for Nomads.

Despite losing 4-1 at Brayton, Bishopthorpe still top division four.

Bishopthorpe went in front through Joe Barrett but the hosts hit back just before the break through Matty Currotto.

Brayton took command after the interval underpinned by goals from Jan Tacats, Lewis Chapple and Craig Waugh.

Back from injury, Lee Ward hit a treble to give Huntsman their first win of the season, 3-1 at the expense of LNER Builders for whom Neil Hind scored.

Second-placed Cross Keys twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Linton-on-Ouse. Jamie Ismay and Ben Burton strikes were cancelled out by replies from Luke Howlett and Lee Harris.

Another comeback was staged by Huntington WMC.

Arron Rose and Nick Rako hit late goals to ensure parity with Acomb Athletic for whom Chris Haigh and Colin Gibson had netted earlier.

An 11-goal division five thriller saw Dick Turpin prevail over pace-setting FTR Burnholme.

Turpin’s tally was shared between Jody Haw (3), Thomas East, Andy Chambers and Ross Haw, while Ross Nelson (2), Luke Laverack (2) and Jordan Siswick were the Burnholme marksmen.
