THE status quo was maintained at the top of York Minster Engineering Football League reserve ‘A’ as the leading three sides all recorded victories.

Leaders Old Malton had little difficulty in extending their unbeaten run to six games as they won 5-0 at Riccall with a goal from Elliot Taylor and a brace each for Dean Leadill and Richie Stevenson.

A Will Dunlop hat-trick helped second-placed Wigginton to a 4-2 win over neighbours Haxby United.

Nick Dunlop added the fourth for the Grasshoppers, with Adam Kelly and Dan Hilton responding for Haxby.

Third-placed Dunnington defeated rivals Dringhouses 5-1 with goals from Tom Wheatlands, Andy Rose, Callum Davidson, Ollly Ellwood and a Ross Wilkinson penalty.

Huntington Rovers pushed their unbeaten home to seven games as goals from Ali Bell and Chris Johnson (2) earned a 3-0 home win over Easingwold.

In reserve ‘B’, Aviva’s 6-0 home win over Pocklington allowed them to close to within a point of leaders Hamilton Panthers, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Bishopthorpe.

Jimmy Hartley led the Aviva assault on Pock with four goals.

There were first wins of the season for the two basement sides.

White Horse beat Amotherby 5-3, despite falling behind to an early goal from Ryan Boyd.

Tom Hudson struck twice for the Church Fenton side to add to an own goal and strikes from Steve Sutton and Adam Mason. Chris Seagar and George Moore netted for Amotherby.

York RI collected their first points of the season with a 5-1 home win over Wilberfoss thanks to a Steve Gagen hat-trick.
