LEADERS Nestlé Flag were made to work hard for their 2-0 victory over Selby Olympia in division one of the Ian’s Cars of Barlby York Sunday Morning Football League.

The reigning champions were 1-0 up at the break thanks to a goal from Gary Mitchinson on 25 minutes.

They finally made sure of taking maximum points with a strike from Chris Dyson with 15 minutes remaining.

A hat-trick from Michael Barnett propelled Hounds to a 4-1 win over local rivals Cliffe as they moved into fourth spot.

Hounds’ other scorer was Rich Gladwell, while Andy Edwards netted for Cliffe.

Marcia Grey went top of division two after beating Cueball 5-2.

Cueball led 1-0 at half-time through Craig Atkin, but four goals from Carl Stewart and a Chris Murcutt strike turned it around. Amos Laverack was Cueball’s other scorer.

Haxby have three games in hand on the leaders and they are only a point behind after a 5-2 win over Albion Vaults.

Pete Dransfield fired a first-half hat-trick and Adam Wash scored twice.

Albion’s scorers were Alan Howard and Alex Romaniw.

In division three, Jim Darlison bagged a hat-trick as Cawood claimed their first win.

Ben Rawson also scored in the 4-1 victory over Bishopthorpe, who replied with a goal from Jon Hrycaizouk.

Britannia Tadcaster and Gypsy Moth shared a 3-3 draw.

Britannia’s scorers were Matty Conway, Ross Bardy and John Sabine.

Acomb WMC battered Linton-on-Ouse 15-0 to stay top of division four north.

Chris Hopcutt scored four, Steve Cross claimed a treble and Tony Evans got two, while there were also goals for Michael O’Shaughnessy, Matty Stables, Neil Douglas, Danny Snaith, Tony Wilkinson and an own goal.

In division four south, Huntsman FC registered their first win of the season, beating LNER Builders 8-3.

Lee Ward scored five for the victors to add to single strikes from Andy White, Luke Hart and James Holroyd, while Builders hit back with goals from Steve Crosby, Shaun Whincup and Matty Williams.

Lee Carter scored four as Barlby beat Fox 9-1. There was a brace apiece for Paul Hughes and Dan Burt, while Steve Willis also netted. The lone Fox scorer was Adam Dobson.

In the League Cup, division four outfit Dunnington beat division two side Hambleton 9-5 with hat-tricks from Danny Little and Nick Robinson, plus goals from Grant Bulmer, Gary Richardson and Rich Booth.
