BISHOPTHORPE consolidated the runners-up spot in reserve ‘A’ of the Leeper Hare York & District Football League with a 3-2 win at Dunnington.
In the only other weekend game, Wigginton Grasshoppers beat York St John 2-0.
It was the students’ seventh successive defeat, while the win ensured Grasshoppers wrapped up their campaign unbeaten in the last eight games.
Adam Jenkins hit both Wigginton goals and finished as the leading scorer in reserve ‘A’.
Meanwhile, Dunnington and Wigginton Grasshoppers clash in the final of the League Senior Cup at Pocklington tonight (6.30pm).
The last game of the league season sees Haxby United host Old Malton St Mary’s in the premier division on Saturday (2pm).
