Union Rovers moved up to fifth in division one of the RJF Homes Beckett Football League with a 4-2 home win over third-placed Gillamoor.

Rovers forged into the lead after 20 minutes when Peter Tiffany squared the ball for Chris Hodgson to score.

Ten minutes later, Lee Dunning doubled his side's lead but, with half-time looming, Gillamoor hit back with a Karl Richardson header from Paul Brackley's corner.

Gillamoor equalised on 55 minutes when Gary Stamper netted a 30-yard free-kick. Dunning struck again to put Rovers in front and Tiffany made the game safe.

In division two, St Clement's 3rds had their fixture at Amotherby & Swinton 3rds postponed, while Slingsby's trip to Ampleforth also fell foul of the weather.

St Clement's and Slingsby then hastily arranged a game, with hosts St Clement's losing 3-2.

Slingsby took the lead after 15 minutes through Jamie Ward and Darren Dyer doubled the advantage. Will Morrison pulled a goal back for Saints on 65 minutes, but Dyer's second restored Slingsby's two-goal lead.

Graham Phillips made it 3-2 ten minutes from time but St Clement's were unable to force a draw.
