TREBLE-CHASING Old Malton St Mary's reached the York FA Saturday Senior Cup final after edging Dringhouses 2-1 in the last four - Jack Simpson with the winner.

The York Minster Engineering League leaders went ahead against their premier division rivals as Marcus Godsell found the net during a goalmouth scramble.

It remained 1-0 at the break, but Dringhouses levelled in the second half through Matty Mulhearn.

The home team's winner came 20 minutes from time as Simpson netted on a breakaway attack.

Saints, with the title in sight, are also still in the League Cup. In the York FA final, they will meet either Church Fenton or Dunnington, who will try again to play their last-four clash next Saturday after it was postponed by rain.

In the York FA Saturday Junior Cup, Malt Shovel reached the final with a similar 2-1 win, Civil Service on the receiving end.

Malt took a first-half lead through Charlie Harvey, with Civil Service’s Luke Addison equalising after the break.

Jake Raistrick got the winner on 75 minutes when beating the keeper one on one.

The other semi-final between Clifford and Haxby Town Reserves was postponed and will be played next Saturday.
