THE weekend's York Minster Engineering League fixture schedule was decimated by the bad weather, with all of the premier division matches being cancelled following heavy rain.

The only game in division one to survive concerned two sides at the top end of the table with leaders Pocklington Town travelling to Tockwith.

The teams emerged with a point apiece following a 2-2 draw. Steve Gay and Chris Newby bagged the goals for the home side.

Despite the rain, the division two programme was unaffected with all four games going ahead.

The Beagle joined Stamford Bridge at the top of the table following their 2-1 home success over Barmby Moor, Bridge remaining in pole position courtesy of their superior goal difference.

Dan Hunter and Jamie Kirby struck for The Beagle in their win, with Aaron Lefevre replying for Barmby Moor.

Stamford Bridge were held at third-placed Rufforth United, the sides both having to settle for a point following a 3-3 draw.

Strikes from Danny Cates, Dave McNichol and Leigh Dutton for the home side were cancelled out by efforts from Danny Gray and Matthew Wain, along with an own goal.

Conditions did not deter fifth-placed Pollington, who routed Bubwith White Swan 6-1.

Brian Robertson scored four of the visitors' goals with David Durham and Oliver Brennan also finding the net. Brooklyn enjoyed a 2-1 home win over Cawood.

It was an away day in division three with all of the visiting teams collecting victories.

Leaders Heslington won 3-1 at Stillington Sports & Social Club - whose defeat rounded off a fruitless season.

Heso's counters came courtesy of an own goal along with strikes from Rob Corker and Danny Mairs, while Ashley Mackenzie bagged the hosts final goal of the season.

Stillington duly finished the campaign without having gained a single point, but the team and management must be commended for their efforts, having continued to the end and fulfilled their fixtures following a run of results that would have seen many people throw in the towel.

Ibo Majid played a starring role for Elm Park as they were successful at Walnut Tree. George Vardy, Will Etty and Sam Wright netted in a 3-1 success.

Helperby United also collected points on their travels, winning 4-1 at Fulford.

Tockwith moved back up to second in the reserve 'B' division on goal-difference following a 2-1 triumph at Wilberfoss. Adam Stobert and Jim Drew were on target for the visitors.

Malt Shovel won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Late goals from Isaac Leach and Joe Dack saw Cliffe gain a 2-0 home win over Civil Service in reserve 'C'.
