FABINHO Almeida hit a hat-trick as York Futsal got back to winning ways in the FA Super League with a 4-3 victory over Manchester.

The hosts’ Robbie Bettson was also on target in a contest that was in the balance at the final whistle.

Manchester took the lead on four minutes through a smart finish after a quick break saw York caught short at the back.

But the scores were levelled moments later when Daniel Pedras was fouled deep in the away half and, from the resultant free kick, a well-worked move involving Roly Donoso and Martin Sowerby saw Bettson net smartly at the far post.

Within a minute, Junior Roberti’s men were ahead after Pedras intercepted the ball and played in Almeida, who somehow managed to toe-poke a shot past the defender and under the advancing goalkeeper.

Leading 2-1 at the break, York extended their lead on 28 minutes with the best move of the game, as quick passing between Matt Overton, Bettson, Almeida and Pedras had the visitors in a spin.

Bettson subsequently crossed first time for Almeida to clinically find the net.

With three minutes to go Manchester flew their goalkeeper , but York went on to extend their lead.

Almeida intercepted the ball just inside his own D, and, with the fly keeper in the home half, he calmly lofted the ball into an empty net for his hat-trick.

Manchester responded well to pile on the pressure during the closing stages and managed to grab two late goals, giving York a nervous last 30 seconds to hold on to maximum points.
