MALT Shovel pipped local rivals Selby Olympia 4-3 in the outstanding Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League Cup tie thanks to a late winner.

Olympia took the lead before goals from Lews Foschi, Kie Latham and James Arnold put Shovel 3-1 up at the break.

Selby struck back to level but Latham's second of the game moments before the final whistle sent Malt Shovel through.

Thomas Lazenby, Andrew Porter and Thomas Spencer were Olympia's marksmen.

The last two remaining semi-final spots in the Senior Cup have been determined, with Hambleton thrashing Acomb Club 11-4 and Hounds seeing off Haxby United 6-1.

Four goals for Nathan Parker, a hat-trick for Galen Hill, a brace for Phillip Newstead and strikes by Kane Snelson and John Matthews saw Hambleton cruise through. Alex Day (2), Thomas Lowry and Oliver Murray replied for Acomb.

Gary Collier hit four for Hounds, while Gonzalo Delgado-Caballero got Haxby’s consolation.

In the Junior Cup quarter-finals, Mitre brushed aside FC Harrogate 6-0 with goals by Daniel Stannard (2), Anthony Falcone (2), Cameron Mulhearn and Samson Wildwood, while division two leaders Thorpe United were knocked out by Elvington Harriers, 3-0.

Goals in the last 10 minutes by Richard Rhodes, Richard Smith and Matt Browne gave Wentworth a stunning 3-2 comeback win at home to Clockhouse FC, for whom Dylan Howlett had earlier netted in either half.

Tang Hall WMC scored three times without reply in the second half to beat York Medics 5-2.

Liam Robertson (2) and substitutes Christopher Lane, Arron Rose and Bailey Simpson netted for Tang Hall. George Claeys-Sheridan and William Quinn scored Medics’ first-half goals.

In division one, Atlanta beat Brayton 5-0 with goals by Greg Harrison, Ben Lambert, Benjamin Murphy, Daniel Paterson and Sean Robinson, and Bishopthorpe CFC pipped Bramham 2-1 thanks to strikes by Connor Watson and Joshua Fairman.
