YORK & District Schoolboys Under-14s suffered their third defeat on the bounce as they lost 6-3 at home to Leeds in their regional schoolboys league.

The visitors came flying out of the traps and were five goals up by the 37th minute. York pulled one back before the break through Archie Colley who fired in from Joe Sidebottom's ball.

Sidebottom got himself on the scoresheet after the restart before he again set Colley up to reduce the deficit to two goals, but Leeds netted a 25-yard free kick to put paid to York's fightback.

York's man of the match was Adam Guilfoyle.

York U12s crashed out of the Michael Dale Trophy semi-finals with a 6-1 home defeat to Leeds.

The visitors were very strong and well-organised, passing quickly and confidently and keeping York pinned in their own half.

But York took a one-goal lead into the break after man-of-the-match James Rennocks rounded the keeper and finished coolly from captain Harry Shane's long ball.

Leeds quickly got on top in the second period and got a deserved equaliser before the clinical visitors ran away with it.

Man-of-the-match Max Rhodes scored a hat-trick as York U11s beat Scarborough 6-2 in the league. Ben Farrar netted a brace and James Borlase added.
