HAMBLETON beat Bishopthorpe CFC on penalties after an eight-goal thriller to progress to the next round of the York Fastpack Ltd Sunday Morning League Cup.

The sides finished 4-4 after extra time, before Nathan Parker, Kane Snelson and Thomas Fox dispatched from the spot to give Hambleton a 3-0 shootout victory.

John Matthews got two goals for Hambleton, with Nathan Parker and Graeme Parker also on target. Sam Cowley hit a brace for Bishopthorpe alongside goals from Daniel Lister and Daniel Zimer.

Thorpe United also went through on penalties, edging the shootout 5-4 against Clockhouse after a 2-2 draw. Callum Acko and Dylan Howlett scored for Clockhouse while Matty Duck and Kyle Hesling netted for Thorpe.

Division one side Haxby United join the pair in the draw following a comfortable 3-0 win at Elvington Harriers. Daniel Clipston, George Rhodes and Kyle Varley were on the scoresheet for Haxby.

The final cup game saw Tang Hall WMC brush aside Wentworth 7-1. Visiting Wentworth took the lead through a William Moss penalty but doubles from Joseph Rawcliffe, Christopher Lane and Bailey Simpson - added to by a Lennon Grayson strike - turned the game on its head.

In the Harrogate & District FA Cup, Atlanta progressed as opponents KDR Veterans could not raise a side, while K Town United went down 7-1 to Burton Leonard.

Hounds and Malt Shovel are through to the semi-finals of the Barkston Ash FA JB Plows Cup. Hounds brushed aside Bardsey 7-0 and Malt Shovel saw off Bramham 4-3.

In league action, Mitre beat division two strugglers FC Pollington 4-2 thanks to a Cameron Mulhearn brace and goals from Danny Phillips and Scott Higgs.

Rawcliffe United beat York Medics 2-1 thanks to first-half finished from Neil Harrison and Stuart Harrison. Medics’ Charlie Adams replied.
