WIGGINTON Grasshoppers continued their title push in reserve 'A' of the York Minster Engineering League with a 3-0 win over Thorpe United at Mill Lane.

Jack Coates gave the hosts an early lead in a fairly even first half in which both teams had chances to add to the scoreline.

Alessandro Delrio made it 2-0 shortly after the restart and Tom Coates completed the scoring late on with a well-taken goal.

Joe Richardson scored the only goal as Pocklington Town defeated Easingwold Town to stay within eight points of Grasshoppers with three games in hand. Third-placed Huntington Rovers hold all the ace cards, though, should they win their five games in hand.

A solitary goal separated Malton & Norton and Church Fenton, the latter winning courtesy of a second-half penalty.

Reserve 'B' leaders Osbaldwick picked up their 11th win of the season with a 5-2 defeat of Haxby Town. Mike Hattee, Chris Suddaby, Matty O'Connell (2) and Nick Lawrie fired the table-toppers to success, Dave Thompson and Tom Maskell replying for Town.

Joe Rawcliffe and Sam Backhouse hit hat-tricks as Dringhouses defeated Tadcaster Magnets 10-2. Cameron Loftus (2), Cameron Sanderson and Lee Bond completed their scoring. Keith Barker hit a double in response for Magnets.

Poppleton United gained a 6-2 triumph at Bishopthorpe.

In reserve 'C', Michael Martin and Conner Larner put promotion-chasing York RI 2-0 up after 15 minutes at Stamford Bridge, but the deficit was reduced by a David Knight goal just before the interval.

RI were reduced to 10 men midway through the second period and Matthew Beckett made it 2-2 with 10 minutes remaining as Stamford pushed forward.

A James Penrose penalty looked to have nicked the win for RI five minutes later, but the home side's substitute, Elliot Wrightson, netted in the dying seconds to earn his side a point.

Carl Slater and Oli Cook twice put Civil Service ahead against Rufforth United but David McNichol levelled both times to earn his side a point from a 2-2 draw.
