TADCASTER Albion new signing Joe Pugh could make his debut tomorrow when the club travel to Evo-Stik League north division leaders South Shields.

The 20-year-old striker Pugh signed his first professional contract at Doncaster Rovers, and has arrived at the i2i Stadium from National League North’s bottom side North Ferriby United.

Manager Michael Morton has expressed his delight at capturing the young frontman, who hopes that the move can restart his career.

Last week, a 10-man Albion were beaten 4-1 by one of Pugh’s former loan clubs, Hyde United, after taking an early lead through Aiden Savory.

Meanwhile, South Shields won 3-2 at Ramsbottom United to maintain their five-point lead at the top of the table.

Fourth-placed Scarborough Athletic will make their trip to Radcliffe Borough without the services of 23-year-old midfielder Charlie Binns, who has left the club in search of more regular first-team opportunities.

The Seadogs’ North Riding Senior Cup first round tie at Marske United on Tuesday was postponed for a second time due to a waterlogged pitch.

Boro’s last game was a nervy 1-0 home league win over Atherton Collieries on Saturday, while Radcliffe were beaten 2-1 at home to Clitheroe in the league and lost 4-0 at the same opponents in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy quarter-final three days later.
