YORK Minster Engineering League Reserve A leaders Dunnington suffered a 1-0 setback at Thorpe United as the two teams at the top of the division collided.

Dunnington still hold an-eight point lead, while Thorpe have two games in hand, but both teams will be wary of Huntington Rovers, who sit within striking distance of the top should they win their games in hand.

Copmanthorpe led Church Fenton 2-1 at half-time, courtesy of strikes from Matt Foote and Alex Knockles.

A second goal from Knockles, plus a Brad Urquhart effort, gave Cop a 4-2 win.

Brooklyn gained an unexpected 1-1 draw at second-placed Riccall United, which allowed Easingwold Town to close the gap following a decisive 6-0 win over Heslington.

Reserve C leaders Poppleton United defeated closest pursuers York RI 3-1, thanks to a magnificent hat-trick from Kieran Blondrage.

Dan Jacques (2), Sam Gibney (2), Alex Zachariou and Charlie Dodds fired in the goals for Wilberfoss as they despatched Rufforth 6-0.

Seclan Richardson bagged a brace to give Civil Service a 2-0 half-time lead at home to Wetherby Athletic, and James Shaw and Callum Watson made it 4-0 after the interval before Richardson completed his hat-trick in the final minutes.
