CIVIL Service top division two of the York Minster Engineering League following a 6-2 home win over Haxby United.

The game was close at half-time, with the hosts enjoying a 2-1 advantage, but they pulled further clear in the second half to gain the important three points.

Aaron North, Craig Theaker and Jason Hogg all bagged braces for Service.

Easingwold Town sit second after a 4-0 triumph over Hamilton Panthers, with Andrew Metcalfe Junior, Tom Rushworth, James Gatley and Josh Cryer netting.

Rufforth United continued their perfect start to the division three season with a 6-1 win at Howden AFC.

Huby United got the better of a fast-paced, 12-goal thriller, emerging with a 7-5 triumph.

Mark Cobb scored four, with Andy Haigh (2) and Steve Aconley also hitting the target for the home side.

Danny Marshall's hat-trick proved the difference between Heworth Green and Selby Olympia as the former gained a 4-1 victory, with John Moore also finding the target for Heworth.

The Raj produced a dominant performance to put five past Jorvik Blades without reply, with Dan Hunter hitting a hat-trick for The Raj.

A big thank you is extended to F1 Racing for the loan of a pitch which allowed the game to go ahead at short notice. South Milford worked hard to gain three points, winning 5-3 at Cawood.

In division four, Wetherby Athletic brought St Clements' 100 per cent record to an end with a 3-2 success at their hosts.

Regular Saints' hitman Mark Scoreby was on target, along with an own goal, but it wasn't enough as strikes from Chris Travena, Sam Straker and Jack Cheetham won the points for the visitors.

Malt Shovel are now just three points off the top in second with a game in hand after four-goal Stephen Frost helped earn them a 6-3 triumph over Bramham, with Higgs and Hall also finding the net for the home side, Ian Prendergast (2) and Freddy Calvert netting the replies for Bramham.

Liam Kettlewell was on target for AFC Crayke at Huntington but the home side won 2-1, while Swinton triumphed 1-0 at LNER Builders.
