HUNTINGTON ROVERS moved to the summit of the York Minster Engineering premier division following an excellent 4-2 away win over defending champions Riccall United.

Lethal striker Chris Dyson once again proved the architect behind the Rovers win, hitting a left-footed hat-trick which was added to by a late goal from James Edmond. Dave Heron and Harry Brigham were the Riccall marksmen.

Dunnington sit second after an impressive 10-0 demolition of Osbaldwick. Tom Matthews, Martin Day and Jimmy Willmoth all helped themselves to double-strikes in the win, with Robert Chipps, Dan Andrew and Simon Castle also finding the net. The scoring was rounded off by a goal from skipper Josh Tattersall, scoring for their premier team for the first time in five years.

F1 Racing also had little trouble overcoming Harrison Signs, an 8-0 triumph propelling them up to third spot.

F1 were three up by half time and went on to dominate the game, adding five more without reply in the second period. George Trifan, Chris Dempsey and Danny Penrose bagged a brace apiece in the win with further goals coming from Adam Tiffany and Liam King.

Ben Jones put Church Fenton ahead against York RI, but the game was turned on its head before half-time with a Leigh Dutton goal and Darren Sellers penalty putting RI in command.

The second half saw no further goals as the Acomb side left with the points.

Sam Drake and Dave Watson gave Dringhouses a 2-1 half-time lead against Copmanthorpe, with James Robinson adding a third for ‘Houses late in the game.

In division one, Cliffe made it two victories out of two, a Darren Jackson header giving them a 1-0 win at Rawcliffe.

Sporting Knavesmire signalled that they are chasing yet another consecutive promotion with a 3-2 success at Pocklington Town. Danny Owers and Alistair Brown put Knavesmire into a commanding lead but Pock struck back to go in level at the break. Gaz Innes provided the second half match winner for Knavesmire.

Danny Cates struck two 20 yarders in the opening twenty minutes as Heslington gained three points at home to Tockwith.

Gaz Fisher struck the decisive Heslington goal in between two Tockwith efforts as the home side won out 3-2. A last minute goal from York St John gave them a 1-0 win at Easingwold Town.
