TADCASTER ALBION got back to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 victory at Liversedge in the Northern Counties East League Premier division.

An early red card for the home side's Andrew Wood turned the contest as The Brewers dominated from then on.

Jimmy Beadle struck the opener with a low drive from the edge of the area and Dan Clayton then headed in his first goal for the club.

George Conway got on the scoresheet in the second half with a lob and Adam Baker netted the fourth with a confident finish as Albion remained in touching distance of league leaders Worksop Town.

Adam Baker’s early effort was tipped over by Liam Scott-Bell in the Liversedge goal and, 12 minutes in, Liversedge's Wood was shown a straight red card after a wild lunge on Brewers centre-half Andy Milne.

It didn’t take Tadcaster long to break the deadlock afterwards through Beadle, midway through the first half.

Clayton’s one-on-one was saved, Conway then struck a volley which was also kept out before Beadle stroked it home from the edge of the penalty area.

It was completely one-way traffic and it was soon 2-0 to Tadcaster. Baker thundered past the Liversedge full-back and chipped perfectly to Clayton, who powered home a header.

With the contest all but over, it was almost a case of how many Albion would score in the second half.

Milne headed just wide and Baker forced another good save from Scott-Bell before the visitors added their third just after the hour mark.

Conway was sent clean through and guided the ball over the keeper to nestle in the back of the net.

It was 4-0 five minutes later.

Baker was played through and never looked like missing as he curled the ball home.

Tadcaster could have scored a hatful in the last 20 minutes but for better finishing and Ryan Woodhead and Paddy Miller both had to be alert – clearing goalbound shots off the line – as the home side looked for a late consolation that didn’t arrive.

Pickering Town collected their first Premier division league win of term with a 4-1 victory at Armthorpe Welfare.

Manager Paul Marshall’s men took the lead through Nathan Kamara just before the half hour mark and then surged into a 3-0 lead with Joe Danby’s goal and a James Bennett penalty.

Ryan Blackburn’s reply, a minute before the break, gave the home side hope but George Bissett, on 59 minutes, snuffed out any hope of a revival.

Selby Town went down 3-1 against Hull United in NCEL division one. Will Pepper gave the Robins the lead at Flaxley Road in the seventh minute but a brace from Brett Agnew and a Josh Tennant goal secured the points for the Humberside club.

Knaresborough Town were also beaten, 4-2 by Hemsworth Miners Welfare in division one. In Evo-Stik first division north, Harrogate Railway suffered a horror show at Trafford.

The Station View outfit went down 6-0. Neighbours Harrogate Town, though, fared much better in National League North.

The Wetherby Roaders took a 4-0 victory away from AFC Telford.
